What is Cardiorespiratory fitness?
Cardiovascular fitness is the ability of the heart and lungs to supply oxygen-rich blood to the working muscle tissues, and the ability of the muscles to use oxygen to produce energy for movement.
Why we need cardio respiratory fitness????
Cardio fitness measures how well your body can perform a rhythmic, dynamic activity at a moderate to high intensity for extended periods of time. While cardio exercise is great for burning calories and losing weight, it also improves your cardiovascular fitness.
What type of exercises are used in cardio respiratory fitness??
There are two type of exercises are used in cardio-respiratory fitness program.
1. Aerobic exercise
2. Anaerobic exercise
3. Flexibility exercises
4. Strengthening exercises
Phases for aerobic exercises-
Warm up,
Conditioning,
Cool down.
Warm up - it is only for 10 minutes and includes jogging, jumping, walking.
Conditioning - it includes conditioning exercises with treadmill or cycle ergo meter and with specific protocols eg. Bruce protocol. Its only for 10 minutes with bouts.
Cool down phase - After conditioning start cool down phase. It includes 10 minutes only slowly reduction of the speed of running on treadmill.
2. Flexibility exercises - To improve flexibility various types of stretching are used eg. Active and passive stretching.
3. Strengthening exercises - various modes of strengthening are used
We can use doumbls, resistance band, resistance tube etc.

Risk stratification and prescription is it decides according to ACSM guidelines
And prescription of frequency, intensity, time, type, volume, it should be according to risk stratification and exercise testing.
